About Amy McMurray Photography

I am a mother, wife, daughter, friend and photographer. I am committed to myself and my clients to get the best photographs possible for you and your loved ones. I am committed to the high standards of the Professional Photography Industry. I am a member of PPA, and WPPI. I attend workshops and conventions throughout the year to keep the standards of my skills fresh and knowlege of "Photoshop" so that I can stay on top of the trends and challenges that I as a photographer find myslef constantly facing in the industry. All of my products are sent to a proffessional lab away from the "Tri-Cities". This is my full time job. I do not have a "real" job that I go to and pursue this simply to fund my hobby. This is my "REAL" job. Before booking a session I will ask you what is it that you are looking for? Are you looking for something for your wall? How big is the space that you intend to place your portrait? Are you considering an album of the session? What will you be wearing? I always recommend solid clothing, try to stay away from patterns, stripes, and plaids. I typically shoot all location. I love the outdoors and I am able to stay with fresh ideas outside. In the event of inclement weather, we will simply reschedule for another day. My session fee is $50.00 and is paid in advance to reserve the date. I will spend about 45 minutes on the average session and show you around 30 proofs. I show many images that are color enhanced, textured and many black and whites. All Saturday sessions require a $300.00 minimum purchase to hold the date.I am looking forward to hearing from you and getting to know you.

  • Taking on weddings

    April 1st, 2011

After much consideration I have decided to get back into the wedding business.  I am excited what they year will bring and I am looking forward to becoming friends with new brides.

Here are a few shots from last year.

I am completely booked for 2010. I am now booking for 2011!!

    November 8th, 2010

I have LOVED, LOVED, LOVED leaf pictures this year and this mommy’s favorite color is “burnt orange“.  All of the color in these pictures are going to look great on her wall!  Who would have known that this little guy had missed his nap that day?

    One of my favorite family’s

    October 30th, 2010

I met Stephanie three years ago at “Book Club”.  Not many people like to read as much as I do and the same kind of books that I do so needless to say we became fast friends.  From girls night out, to Book Club she has became a friend that I cherish and getting to photograph these two adoable boys is just an added “perk” to our friendship.  I think that they look like “GAP” kids.  I keep telling her that she is gonna go crazy with girls calling her house in about five years.

I love this time of year!  It is so much fun.  Look at those colors.

    American Girl’s

    October 12th, 2010

Blue eyes, freckles & the most natural smiles that I have ever come across.  This family had the “All American” look going for them.

    Beautiful family

    September 29th, 2010

I admit it.  I love when clients come to me in “white”.  Maybe it is because I never wear white because I know that it will get dirty.  I have never owned a pair of white pants.  I have always been envious of friends that wear them because I know that I would wear them once for all of five mintues and then they would be ruined forever.

I met Misty at kickboxing around two years ago.  She had just had little Lauren.  Since then we have become good friends that enjoy a “girls night out” and we are even doing a “Navy Seal Challenge” race this Saturday.  Yep, I am scared!  I am gonna get skunked but it it all in fun and games right?

    Emma and Lilly

    September 28th, 2010

I have been wanting to photograph this family for a long time.  I was super excited when their mother approached me about doing something at their farm.  The farm had it all ponies, creeks, tire swings and hay bells.  A photographers dream!!  Thank you Anneke for a wonderful opportunity.

It’s time to start thinking about Christmas

    September 14th, 2010

Yes, I am as bad as WalMart.  I am already telling you that it is time to start planning for Christmas.  My oldest daughter Grayson is in the “East Tennessee Children’s Choir” and has many perfomances in November and December so I am cutting back my workload those months.

The last day for a scheduled session is November 12.  All orders must be turned in by November 19 for Christmas delivery.

I have a couple of Saturday’s still available for session’s so feel free to contact me for available dates.

I am still desigining Custom Christmas Cards when we are at your session let me know if you are interested in me designing a few for you to choose from.

In the meantime, enjoy this wonderful “Indian Summer” that we are having.

Ahhhhhhh it is so nice to photograph in the cooler weather

    September 11th, 2010

The humidity is dropping and I didn’t even have to break a sweat to capture Sara & Brett’s beautiful family.  The boys were more than patient and I do not think that a tear was shed througout the entire shoot.

Sarah, I love your family but you already knew that.  You guys are so laid back and just plain fun.  Thank you for letting me capture your family.
